The Latino Screenplay Competition (LSC) was conceived by Tica Productions™ to cultivate a greater interest in Latino-themed stories in popular cinema. The objective of the Latino Screenplay Competition is to promote talented screenwriters of Latino-themed screenplays, as well as encourage a demand for Latino-themed stories in the American film market. Both feature-length screenplays, as well as short screenplays will be awarded. It is not a requirement of the LSC that the screenwriters of Latino-themed screenplays be of Latino descent or speak a Latino language as his/her primary language. It is also not a requirement that the Latino-themed screenplays be written in a Latino language.
Winners selected by the LSC will be considered for both monetary prizes, as well as prizes provided by LSC Sponsors. The LSC will offer awards in several screenplay divisions, including but not limited to Best Latino-Themed Dramatic Feature and Best Latino-Themed Short Screenplay.
The 2009 LSC Finalists will be notified by November 15, 2009. Both Winners and Finalists will be posted online.
