The LATINO SCREENPLAY COMPETITION (LSC) is proud to announce the WINNERS of the 4th Annual Latino Screenplay Competition. The below-listed Winners represent the very best of the screenplays submitted for the 2009 cycle; both the Winners and Finalists represent the best-executed, most highly-crafted and stylistically-solid screenplays submitted to the Latino Screenplay Competition in 2009. All screenplays were judged in the categories of Plot, Dialogue, Characterization, Originality, Pacing, Latino Merit and Commercial Viability. It is our goal to discover commercially viable screenplays that encourage a stronger visibility of Latino-themed screenplays in the American market.

This year we are presenting a total of five awards. In addition to our main awards, we are presenting the FINAL DRAFT International Promise Award, which was introduced in 2008. The award highlights a rising international talent in the craft of screenwriting. The winner of this award will receive Final Draft's International script-writing software. The Martha Munoz Award, a special award created by the LSC, honors a screenplay that presents a unique portrayal of the Latino struggle.

Thank you to all of the screenwriters that applied to the competition this year. We enjoyed reading your work and we are ecstatic at the quality of the submissions received. We look forward to reading more of your work in 2010 as we continue our pursuit of discovering the best Latino-themed screenplays around the world.

Our annually produced handbook THE BEST LATINO-THEMED SCREENPLAYS OF THE YEAR will be available for download, and in hard copy, by April 5, 2010. Email info@LatinoScreenplayCompetition.com to request a mailed copy.

LOVE LATINO LIFE!
